AVI BARKIN

Senior Director of Finance

Avi Barkin serves as Senior Director of Finance for JFC-UIA.
 

Avi is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant who has worked in the private for-profit sector for over 35 years, having served as a financial executive for large growth-oriented national and international companies in various industries including manufacturing, retail, and health care. Recently, Avi completed a 15-year term as Chief Financial Officer and Interim President of CBI Health, a leading Canadian rehabilitation and home care provider.
 

Avi has advised private companies and their respective Boards on finance, business strategy, acquisitions, and leadership development, including mentorship of senior finance and operations managers.
 

Avi has served as a volunteer for not-for-profit organizations, including as Treasurer of Canadian Jewish Congress, Ontario Region, and as a member of its Community Relations Committee. He began his career at Price Waterhouse (now PwC) after earning his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Toronto.
 

Avi lives in Toronto with his wife of 36 years, enjoys sports and fitness, music, documentaries, and travel adventures and, most especially, time with his daughters, their spouses and his three grandchildren.
