In 2012, after a hiatus of 25 years, the annual Walk for Israel returned to Kitchener-Waterloo, ON. In the past 3 years, the Kitchener-Waterloo Walk for Israel has raised over $30,000 CAD for Youth Futures Kiryat Shmona, a Jewish Agency for Israel mentoring program that supports Israeli youth-at-risk.
“We are thrilled to bring the ‘Walk for Israel’ back to the community for the fourth consecutive year. It is an ideal way for people to raise money for a great cause while spending time with family and friends and enjoying a good walk on a spring day,” said Jeff Budd, event organizer. “We encourage people and organizations to get involved as participants, sponsors, walkers and/or donors.”
The 5 km route starts and finishes at Beth Jacob Synagogue at 161 Stirling Ave. South in Kitchener at and winds through Victoria Park.
