MICHAEL FRANKEL

Immediate Past Chair 

Michael Frankel has dedicated himself to community service for more than three decades. A true community leader, he has participated in a broad range of activities. A role model for others, Michael stresses integrity and accountability in all that he does.

An accountant by profession, Michael has served as Treasurer of Federation CJA and as Chair of its Community Planning and Allocations Committee. His long-standing concern for Israel has been expressed through chairing the Israel & Overseas Committee at the Federation (Project Renewal and Partnership 2000) and serving as President of the Quebec-Israel Committee.

Recognizing the importance of Israel experiences as a crucial component of Jewish identity-building and education, he has chaired the Bronfman Israel Experience Centre and the March of the Living and was President of the Bronfman Jewish Education Centre. He has also served on the Board of Federation CJA, the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal, the Bronfman Jewish Education Centre, CIJA–Quebec, the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation and the McGill University Hospital Centre Foundation.

Currently, Michael sits on the boards of the Jewish Agency for Israel, Jewish Federations of North America and Kehilla.
